CAMPING

The Mabbutt Family extend a warm welcome to campers at Pondhead Farm, nestled in the tranquillity of 32 acres of parkland landscaped by 200 year old Oaks and Pines.  We offer campers a refreshing blend of simplicity, value for money and a superbly located site, only a mile from the New Forest's capital - Lyndhurst.

Facilities at the farm include a shop stocking produce raised on the farm everything from fresh sausages and burgers to whole venison and beef steaks as well as daily conveniences including bread and milk, toilets with hot and cold water with washing facilities.

The two principal camping fields centred around the Farmhouse include the 2.5 acre "Cricket Field", so termed as previously it served this purpose to the adjacent Parkhill House, which was at the turn of the 20th Century a prep' school for the "sons of Gentleman", indeed it's notoriety include T.S Elliot serving as a master under the auspices of the school's founder Canon Rawnsley, one of the founders of the Council for the Preservation of Rural England.  Today the house, recoined "Limewood" affords excellent dining and bar facilities throughout the day to the public.  The second field conveniently located for the farm complex overlooks the farm's grazing paddocks to the north and the forest adjoins directly to the south with its miles of forest tracks for cycling and walking.

We are usually able to host larger parties, subject to booking and availability, clients using this service include the Girl Guide Association, Youth Groups, and Duke of Edinburgh participants.  We are normally able to offer a least 1/2 acre or more and toiletry facilities as required.  Please enquire for special prices and availability.
